ONE MAN (or 16 year old kid, rather...). ONE SCHOOL. CHANCE ME.

Virginia Tech is number one on my list at the moment... might be a bit of a reach... but... hey... reaches may be attainable...

From North Jersey

Unweighted GPA: 3.2

SAT: 690 CR, 610 M, 710 W (1300/2010) [will take again in September, along with the ACT if it'll help my chances]

School doesn't rank...

Class Council (2 years) [Representative]

Student Council (2 years) [President]

ERASE Club (End Racism and Sexism Everywhere) [Vice President]

Some lesser things...
- Writer for the school newspaper (2 years)
- Key Club Member (3 years)
- Basketball (2 years)
- Football (1 year)
- URM (African-American)
- Volunteer at Church

VT Majors of Interest: Industrial Engineering, Marketing & Operations Management.

I recognize my shortcomings, especially in the GPA aspect... and especially because I haven't taken many honors courses/APs (school restrictions on who can & when people can take APs are ridiculous. That's another topic on its own though...). That's why I'm definitely willing to apply ED if that will increase my chances any.

Chance me regular decision and then chance me on if I were to apply early.

Any questions necessary to get a better idea on me as a student/person, feel free to ask

Thanks

I would say it’s a match/low-reach.
The GPA may hold you back but your SAT scores and EC are pretty good! :)

Good luck!

High match/low reach.
Good luck!

high match, get your math sat up and it will be great.

High match/ very low reach. (chance back?)

Match good luck =]

Would my chances be better if I didn’t apply to the engineering program and instead opted for marketing?
