I mean, your score are good. Your ECs are great, even though there are A LOT of them.

You've got a shot. But you won't walk in. Write a great essay and you've got a better shot.

Hello, your grades and SAT scores seem good enough for top-notch school. Ses is right that you have a lot of EC's, but the ones that matter appear to be impressive. By Tourn. of Champions, are you referrring to the iTest one? Good luck.

even if i don't make intel semifinalist (i guess if i do i would be a sure shot), getting a paper out of my project would be pretty good rt? (and chances plz, for those of you who haven't said anything yet--really appreciate it), also, indian in nj-how much of a difference?

Tournament of Champions is a debate tournament

Getting a paper is impressive. I'd suggest that when you pursue this paper for Intel, don't focus on its good for your college application. Genuinely try your best at the research and devote yourself to it. You'll then find yourself satisfied w/your results--whatever they may be--and I'm sure universities will realize that. I think you have a better chance at the Ivies than at MIT (nice debate achievements) because, by your list, there seems to be a lack of math/science-related triumphs at the state and national level.

thanks--appreciate it. i'm hoping the intel/some really good reccs from calc/bio teachers can help with MIT, but i'll take ivies obviously...lol

What is your class rank? Are many of those going to top schools athletes or legacies at your school?

our school does not rank, but i'm likely in the top 10-15 students out of an 800 class, and all the kids who go to ivies are not top athletes (mbe 1/2 play a varsity sport but nothing near college consideration) and i don't think any legacies-most children of ivy parents at our school aren't very academically inclined

anybody else? go for it

for top schools: ok GPA/rank. good test scores. ECs appear to be good but is all over the place. get rid of the filler stuff to make it more organized.

i say in at two among HYPSM

so basically, since most apps need 5 top ecs, what would u guys say are mine?

also, would scientific research, including all the work i have done on different projects count as one ec, or would it be separate? thanks

and awards and honors is a separate section on the app rt?

continue to post chances plz

does it help? what do you think?

idk? do they expect u to get all 5s or is it a plus if you do?

Admissions officers barely look at AP scores, but they can only help. They can kind of be the cherry on top of your app.

holy cow, scores are up already? I thought they were up by phone after the first of july!
