One-Week Absence Due To Health Relapse

Present with a well-documented neuro-immuno-physiological condition... currently registered with office of disabilities — have notified professors, but some of them have not been very understanding. Does any one have suggestions for resolving and/or mitigating the matter??

The office of disabilities should help you out. The one at my son’s school will contact professors directly, if necessary. Did you have a letter outlining accommodations to give to your teachers?

What do you mean by “not very understanding”? Are you missing exams or quizzes that they won’t let you make up; are there assignments they won’t let you turn in?

I think it’s common for professors to expect you to get missed lectures/lecture notes by communicating with classmates instead of them. ODS may send a note taker to your classroom if you arrange it with them ahead of time, to take notes for your lecture (or ask one of your current classmates to do it for you, and pay them).

But they have to let you make up tests and quizzes and turn in assignments. So I would talk to the ODS and see what a counselor there says about the situation - they may give you some tools/advice or directly contact the professor. Your advisor may also have some advice.
