Will the numbers of online state schools continue to grow in the 5-10 years? I mean schools like UF, LSU, Illinois, PSU, etc… that have online graduate programs.
Thanks

I think so. For example, over just the past 90 days, at least 16 new master’s degrees have been introduced by various state-funded, public colleges and universities around the US, to my knowledge. Many more online degrees were also developed and announced by private, not-for-profit colleges/universities within this time period. I haven’t really compiled any figures, but during the previous 9 months, we’re probably looking at around 40 new online degrees - bachelor’s and master’s - offered by state-funded schools.
According to some reliable sources, associate’s degrees appear to hold the most potential for the transition to distance learning. Taxpayer-funded community colleges are embracing this learning media largely because of their non-traditional student body.
I’ll say this much. If students shop around, then they will likely find many attractive options available in the way of online bachelor’s degree completion programs or master’s degrees from public and private, not-for-profit schools in almost every imaginable discipline.
