I have only completed about 8 classes, which could be anywhere from 24-28 credit hours at some universities. However, if a school says that they need 30 credit hours or else you must submit your high school work, what will happen if I only have these 8 classes? I have very solid college grades (3.6), and am above the average admitted GPA. Do you think I will be admitted, or what will happen if I just send in this along with all of the other required documents? Thanks. Please do not try and call me stupid, just what you think will happen.

I don't see how this is a problem? You just submit your high school work? I thought most colleges, if not all, require this of students that are transferring?

My high school work is terrible (2.2 GPA), so I really would rather not submit it.

I think what'll happen is, you submit the high school transcript, and while they'll take a look at it, (and because you're pretty close to the limit), they won't put that much weight on it. That's just my guess.

Let's say I did not submit it, what do you think would happen? I earned 8 credit hours through CLEP and I mentioned that in a letter with my admissions information. So that would put me over 30 credit hours. What do you think would happen if I did not submit high school transcripts?

If I was the college, I'd probably request it.

Do you think that's all that will happen? Could it keep me from being admitted?

Honestly, I wouldn't take the chance.

I had a pretty low high school GPA as well (2.75 UMich weighted) and I have pretty close to their magic number (I heard 40 from somewhere, I have 16 completed, 17 in progress) and I still sent in mine.

Even with the CLEP's that would make it okay though, I would think? I really would hate to send them in. They are just so bad it would make them look at me in a completey different way.

Would it be okay to call them and ask?

I guess. What schools are you applying to?

University of Michigan

My father refused to pay for NYU when I'm in state for UMich, so I gave up on that plan a few weeks back.

You?

American U is the primary one I am focused on.

I doubt it would keep you from being admitted... but they might put your application aside until they get your high school grades, which means someone else might be admitted in your place in the meantime. If you're really stressed about it and think your high school grades would keep you from being admitted, either hold off and see if they request them or call in and ask if your file is complete.

Yeah I was going to just hold off and see what they said. That is pretty much what I was asking, is what do you think they will do? Thanks for the response.

More responses please...

I applied to USC with 24 units completed. I sent in my HS transcript which consist of 3.0

I would send it in. You have to no matter what. Don't day the inevitable Even people with 30 units or more. You can't just sneak your way in.

If you are so concerned with your GPA, write about it in your essays.

We don't have any essays for the application. I mean I did write though in a letter that I had earned CLEP credit. So technically, wouldn't I have completed 30 hours or more? That is what I am asking, is if with these requirements if they will even have time to bother asking me for high school information.

Colleges can't make a decision based off 30 units or less. Thats why they request HS transcript. Don't worry about it, send it in.

It's better than getting in, and then ask for HS, and for watever revoke admission.

The thing is, about a month and a half after the deadline I will have another 16 credit hours completed with stellar grades. I am just scared to send it in, it is terrible.
