so basically i did well on two of my subject tests (780 and 800) but got a 600 on US history. but since columbia requires students to send all scores, i'm scared that the 600 will ruin my chances.
on their website they said "When evaluating applicants, we consider only the highest testing results reported from individual sections of the SAT (or the highest Composite on the ACT), and the two highest required SAT Subject Tests".. but do they really do so?
should i worry about this at all??? anyone? thanks ><

I was skeptical of this as well (after all, why would they ask for it if they aren’t going to look at it?) but it didn’t end up hurting me (I had two scores in the high 700s and one in the low 600s too). I think they mean it that they will only “consider” your two best, and in any case, it’s only one bad score.

I have a 760 :|, will that drag me down?

No.

10 char

@iteotwawki
thank you so much!!! that definitely helped calm me a lot :)

i just called columbia admissions just to double check. the guy was SO nice and he told me “not to worry too much” about the scores because they don’t matter that much anyway… although, he sort of freaked me out when he said “even if we do look at all your subject tests, they’re just a small part” >< i don’t really know what that meant. but i think i should be fine :)

They only want to look at “all” your scores because they want to see if you took the same SAT Subject matter test four or five times to get a higher score.
