Just wanted to send a note of encouragement to all of you 'noles who are experiencing senioritis. This is the last term of your high school career - so make it it count! Remember this term's performance has the potential to add to or subtract from your cum GPA [that will be sent to FSU on your final transcript]. Keep focused on your academic goals! A grand finish to your high school marathon is definately worth it!

I only have one more term until FSU!
BUT, i will have one D on my first semester transcripts :(
Will my acceptance be rescinded?!
FSU is my dream school! & I still did very well in all of my other classes first semester.
If I make sure my grades are perfect second semester will they forgive me?
Should I contact FSU and warn them about the D before they see it when they check my end-of-year transcripts?
PLEASE HELP! I NEED TO BE A NOLE!!

Seminole Fan,

There are hundreds of already-accepted FSU students who are in the same situation right now as you are...don't flip out QUITE yet!

FSU takes all things into consideration when looking at their students' prosperity (or lack thereof). If you kicked butt in all of your classes but one, I'm pretty sure that they'd show some leniency. FSU also considers your proposed major; for example, if you're majoring in Science, but you got a D in European History, they would know that this would not highly reflect upon your success while you're at their institution.

Just make sure that you really shine your second term and all should be just fine!

Write On

P.S. When in doubt, call admissions just to make sure that the bad grade won't leave a terrible dent in your admission.

SeminoleFan,

its ok that you got a D, i have friends who are freshmen at FSU now. And I know 2 of them got D's in Economics their senior year, and they still went to FSU without a problem, as long as you did well the rest of your high school life you will be fine. :]

One month closer to graduation! I know all of you 'noles of '12 are most likely getting senioritis, but hang in there! Try to stay focused on your classes. It will be so worth it when your final transcript sent to FSU is one that you are pleased with and you don't have to worry about your status.

Ugh, I can't wait. I hate my school.

On Friday FSU finally made it official - they are cutting 1000 spots in the freshmen class for 2008.

The target is 2000 freshmen for summer and 3300 for fall. Last year 6300 were admitted, this year is will only be 5300.

Numbers will be cut from the low academic (SAT/ACT/GPA) end of applicants still waiting on a decision and serious review will take place of accepted students' final hs grades.

500 spaces are also being cut from accepted transfers and only transfers with an AA degree will be accepted.
