How am I looking?

lol I would say you're in. Maybe Honors Program but I don't know too much about it

You're definitely in.

When did you apply?

'preciate it, everybody. Man if I got into Honors that would be awesome.''

I applied 11/18/2008

btw, didn't do an essay. I'm still good?

I'd say 85% chance of acceptance. You have the SAT scores for honors, but I think your grades might be a little low (you need a 3.9 FSU weighted). If you don't get the honors invite in the mail, appeal the decision by writing an essay and getting a letter of recommendation. Good luck!

Glad to know there will be a fellow RSX owner on campus :)

I hate to rain on the parade, but applying in November is rather late. I'd guess your chances are around 40% tops. Your 3.5 GPA is rather average and SAT/ACT is not far from the average of 1265 for this time in the process. Two APs are great, but many applicants present 5 APs or more.

Far better to apply in August...

Good luck!

You have a shot. If you applied in Nov but no essay and no resume submitted until just last night, all they have had to see all this time was your good scores and your OK GPA with only an OK strength of schedule. You had a better shot if the essay and resume went in in Nov as well. You were "in" if you had applied for the early notification with all that info. Now, it depends on how many already accepted their admission and how competative the second batch of students are. Good Luck.

'Preciate the critiques. I wasn't sure if I wanted to apply to FSU back when the early deadline occured, so that's why I didn't have anything in early. This was because I wasn't sure if I wanted to apply to the Communication School or the Film School (which only accepts 25 freshman a yr. if i remember correctly). Also wasn't a fan of Tally at the time, but I like it more now.

and Ryuzaki, unfortunately I don't have a car right now (parents are uptight about car costs), but since RSXs aren't made anymore, I'll probably attempt to get one for cheap when I start car shopping. RSX was my car of choice on Need For Speed, so I used that as a gamertag, and then my email, and now as a username. :D

& I doubt my W GPA is a 3.9

This is useful information to those high school students looking at Florida State now...even if you have some doubts (a perfectly normal thing to have, going away to college and all) do this:

Get as many APs as possible.

Maintain a high GPA in a challenging course load.

Take the SAT and the ACT starting in your junior year. Retake them until you have at least the average of FSU Fall freshmen if you superscore the tests.

Do your community service work and then exceed the required hours.

Make a personal visit to FSU and meet with admissions staff.

Walk all around the campus and get a current student to show the inside of dorms.

Tour Tallahassee. It's a great city. :)

Ask questions - plenty of FSU parents, students and even alumni here.

APPLY EARLY - in AUGUST!
