D18 considering applying to FSU next year and just curious what the cutoff for ACT scores (and GPA) was for this past year. I have seen conflicting data on this forum so just thought I’d ask - realize it may chnage from year to year. So was it a 30 for the full waiver, and a 29 for half waiver this year? Thanks!
We’re in state, so I can’t respond about OOS waivers. However, if she’s interested in studying abroad, it looks like students participating in First Year Abroad (FYA) can qualify for in-state tuition when they return to Tallahassee. https://www.international.fsu.edu/FYA.aspx
Thanks @shortnuke - that’s a nice option to have and will keep it in mind.
I think the ACT cutoff was 32 for this year’s crop – believe that is what they showed at the info session. You can also get a partial OOS waiver with a lesser score. I don’t recall GPA being a consideration for the waiver.
^ Sounds pretty high compared to previous years but possible - hoping to see some who received it post here.
My daughter received it - she had a 33 on her ACT. I believe they showed a 32 as the ‘guaranteed’ cutoff for the full OOS waiver at the info session we attended last Fall. Also keep in mind, FSU had a record number of applicants this year (~42k) so that probably contributed to a higher cutoff score.
Just talked with Admissions and the requirement for this year was a 30 for the full waiver, and a 29 for partial waiver. They also said a 3.5 WGPA was required - I’m sure based on their weighted calculation. Thanks all for your input.
Thank you for providing this information. My daughter in similar situation.
I applied this year, and I received a full OOS waiver with a 30 ACT and around a 4.0 WGPA.
@rlee9812 are you planning to attend??
