Hey guys! I’m a student from Colorado who is hoping to get into UC schools in the future. My school only offers college credit courses so i didn’t take any ap classes so far.(going to be a senior next year)
I was wondering if college credit classes are UC approved honors courses for out of state students. Thank you.
generally, they only offer the GPA bump for AP (not Honors) classes from OOS applicants.
From the UC website:
**Nonresidents:
UC will grant honors weight for AP or IB courses and transferable college courses only, but not for school-designated honors courses. The weight is given to letter grades of A, B, or C. **
So you would need to find out if the College courses are UC transferable. Best way to do this is check with each UC and keep the course syllabus to help them determine transferability.
Assist.org might help with matching course descriptions for college courses or the UCOP a-G course list could help with matching these courses to the CA college courses.
