<p>You could talk to the college and ask. I think if you feel the three pages is absolutely necessary, and that there is nothing you can throw out (for the reader’s sake) that does not contribute to your point you’re trying to communicate, go for it.</p>
<p>Just don’t overwhelm them. Make whatever special circumstances you need considered very clear, don’t bury the major points under unimportant information.</p>

<p>I agree that three pages is excessive. It might say a lot about you, but it might also annoy the person reviewing your app. There’s no limit, but try to limit yourself to their suggest space, which I believe is one to two paragraphs.</p>
