Organic Chemistry as a High School Senior?

I am currently a junior in high school trying to figure out what science course(s) I should take next year for my senior year. I am currently in AP Chemistry and AP Physics 1 & 2 and am doing well in both courses (As) and I am interested in pursuing chemical engineering in college. I am considering taking organic chemistry next year at a local college as a senior, lecture online and a once or twice a week 3 hour lab at the college. I really love chemistry and am thinking that taking a full year off is a bad idea. My other options for next year at my high school that I am considering are AP Biology, AP Physics C, and AP Environmental Science. I was wondering if anybody has any advice for if taking organic chemistry next year is a good or bad idea, as it is a notoriously difficult course, and if any of the other AP classes listed above would help prepare me for a chemical engineering major. Thank you!

I do not know much about organic chemistry, but I think taking organic chemistry through dual enrollment would be very impressive for your college application, and it is a bonus that you are so interested in it. I think it would also help give you a glimpse into college-level chemistry classes and help you either affirm your desired major or perhaps change it.
I think organic chemistry would be more directly related to your interests/major than AP Bio. I took APES and while it was very interesting, it involved little science application and little chemistry.
At the end of the day, I think you should take what you are most interested in and could excel in.

Organic Chemistry is very difficult…I would stick with AP Bio. You dont’ know now how you will do on the AP Chem test…will you get a 5 and place out of Chem in college or will you have to take it again?
