Organic Chemistry without taking chemistry 2?

At my school if you get consent from the instructor you can take O chem without having taken chem 2. Would this be difficult? Do you use many things from chem 2 in O chem. Im a civil engineering major/ environmental minor considering environmental for grad school.

Chem 2’s a fairly easy class, so you could always take it to pad your schedule one term or for an easy A.

From what I’m hearing from my instructor, we will use what we’re learning about acids and bases in O chem. This goes for buffers as well.

Chem 2 is a prerequisite for O chem at my school. There is, however, a survey O chem course that one only needs to take Chem 1 as a prerequisite, if that’s what you’re talking about. Otherwise, I think it would behoove you to take Chem 2 first.
