Orientation - dress code for Freshman Assemblyand/or President's Reception?

Does anyone know what the dress code, or typical dress, is at the Freshman Assemblyand/or at the President's Reception that follows, on the Saturday morning of orientation? I am interested in what both the kids AND the parents wear. Thanks!

Moms in summer dresses or skirts. Dads in business casual and some in coats and ties. The place they hold it in is not air-conditioned, so keep that in mind. (Also pay attention to which side of the building the sun is shining on.) Boys dressed in shirts with ties + khakis; some wore blazers and suits. Girls wore summer dresses or skirts. Moms should keep in mind that it's a bit of a hike to the President's house, so you may want lower heels. Reception is outdoors.

Thanks! So it sounds like a tie for the male students and dads, but not necessary to have a full-blown suit. Thanks again!

You'll be sitting in the balcony. Sit on the right side, facing the stage. The sun comes in the windows on the left side and it can be brutal. Get there early. They do run out of seats. Consider bringing a bottle of water with you.
