When's the best time to go to orientation? My college is offering 3 different times. Should I go the first or the last? (I can't go to the middle one because that's prom).

Opinions?

It really doesn’t matter. Just pick one. They’re all the same.

If they will be doing registration at the orientation pick the first one when more spots will be open in classes.

Registration is part of it.

^Then go to the first one.

It may not make a difference if they did it in a similar way to my school. My school saved a certain number of spots in freshman classes for each Orientation session. But some schools don’t do this, so going to the first one would be a huge advantage.

I’d say if you get to schedule, go tot he 1st, but some majors like engineering at my school gaurentee that you get into classes. However, you may get a better time slot.

Go to the first. You will have a higher chance of getting into the class you want.

As I understand it, at Georgia Tech, freshmen are pre-registered into classes based upon their incoming AP / IB / joint-enrollment credits and their major. So, attending a later orientation did not adversely affect class selection.

There aren’t really any cons to going to the first one or pros to going to the last one, and there are potential pros to going to the first one so I’d do that.

Freshman aren’t pre-registered at my college. Registration happens completely at orientation during the summer.
