Hi everyone, I’ll be a freshman at OSU this fall and I purchased the Big 10 home game football ticket package. I got an email about requesting group seating through Ticketmaster, but is this necessary? I’m not from the area and am the only person from my school going to OSU so I don’t know anyone to make a group with as of right now. I’m sure I’ll make lots of friends once I get there, but will I be able to sit with the people I want to if I don’t request a group in advance or is seating assigned? And where exactly is the reserved seating? Thanks in advance!!
It is not necessary to request group seating. There are no assigned seats for reserved tickets just assigned sections so all group seating does is make sure you and your friends are all assigned tickets in the same section. Therefore, if you are not in a group you will be sitting in a section with a bunch of other students and you can make friends with them or hopefully some of the friends you make in your dorm or classes were assigned the same section as you. If it turns out all of your friends are in a different section I have heard that sometimes students will go up to their section and grab an extra ticket stub from someone already seated there and then walk the extra stub back down to the friend who isn’t in that section to join them. My son had Block O South tickets but after he made friends with kids in a reserved section he sat with them in their section at all the remaining games.
