I thought if you were a QuestBridge finalist, that you could not apply Early Decision or Early Action to any other schools? One of my son's classmates, also a QB finalist, just posted on her FB page that she was admitted to Tulane. I am assuming that it is EA, since Tulane does not do rolling admissions.

Was she permitted to do this? And if so, did my son just miss out on the opportunity to apply as well? He is unlikely to be matched on Friday, and will have missed all the other EA deadlines of the schools he was interested in, such as Tulane. He does not want to apply ED anywhere else so will be restricted to just RD at these other schools.

This girl, in the meantime, has an EA to Tulane and might get matched on Friday.

You can apply early to EA schools if you forgo the Match round.

Thanks, she did not forego the match round. She is waiting to hear on Friday like everyone else!

I suppose she is taking a risk that if she is matched on Friday, and has to withdraw her other applications, that Tulane will notify QB that she applied there EA.

Tulane offers a special application that ensures a response within 2-3 weeks after submission of your application.

Yes but it is an early action app, doesn’t change the fact that it is prohibited by QB rules if you are a finalist doing the Match round.

It’s actually not an early action app!

Agree with aztec. Ds1 did it his year, too. At kleast when ds1 did it, they called it a “priority app” that would be processed quickly and yield a rapid response, but it wasn’t EA.
