Hi,

I'm seriously considering transfering to NYU to get my B.A, but can someone tell me what the process is like... particulary from someone who has already transferred to an out of state university if possible.

Thanks.

Well I can’t tell you what the process is like but I can tell you that since NYU is private, it makes no difference whether you’re from an in state university or out of state.

O thanks! That’s what I was most concerned about… I’m also worried about tuition though…

Tuition should be a big concern since their financial aid is deplorable (not my opinion, it’s actually the opinion of many who attend the school.)

If tuition is a serious concern for you then you should probably look at some other schools. NYU has horrible financial aid. If it is worth it to you to take out at least 100k-150k in loans then you should go for it. But the best advice I could give you is to really think about whether all the debt would be worth it for you. I’m an NYU student right now and I’m trying to transfer out because after a year I decided that all of the debt I would have to accumulate just isn’t worth it for me. But that’s just me, if you think it’s worth it then you should definitely apply; it’s a great school.
