Out of state transfer to UCB, UCLA, and UCSD

I don’t mean to double post, but here’s an old thread I posted in where Ms. Sun clears this up.

That makes a lot more sense, thanks for finding that and posting it here.

Hey guys. I heard that Berkeley requires out of state applicants to fill out a " Reading and Composition Questionnaire". Does UCLA and UCSD require that for out of state transfer applicants? Thanks!!!

dilapidatedmind is absolutely right. I transferred from a 4-year to Berkeley and very recently got my breadth approved. I had AP cover RC and QR so that wasn’t a worry. Also, major pre-reqs and reqs will be approved by DEPARTMENT, not by undergrad advising (at least at Berkeley). If you have any questions feel free to PM me. I have a final on Friday so I can’t guarantee a speedy response, but I’ll do my best :D

I am so glad to year a successful applicant from out of state college.

Would you mind me asking your GPA when you transfer to Cal and current major?

Thanks

I honestly have no idea what my actual GPA was because I had a whole bunch of work from different schools. I think it was somewhere in the 3.3-3.6 range, though that could be utterly wrong (since I don’t know what they deemed as transferrable during admissions). My major is English, though Berkeley doesn’t admit by major, rather by college. So if you are in L and S you will be admitted to L and S and then declare your major when you get here.
