Out of State Transfer?

I am trying to transfer to NCState from a Maryland community college. I am permanently moving to North Carolina regardless of my acceptance. I have a 3.5 GPA and I am applying to the business program for the Fall 2013. I am currently taking the English and Calculus needed for admittance however I just found out that admission into the University is contingent on admission to the degree program. I am assuming at this point my best chance is a deferral until my semester grades come in; so I was wondering if anyone has been in the same boat or knows the chances of getting in as a transfer out of state? Also what are the chances of getting in after being deferred?

Please help, it is driving me nuts not knowing what to expect!

Getting deferred as a transfer student is completely different from getting deferred as a freshman applicant. As a transfer student, all it means is that they will need your spring grades to make a decision. Remember you need atleast 30 credit hours of transferable courses and 1 English Comp and Calc 1 for your program. If you have all that, I think you’ll get in pretty easily. Good luck

I’m under the impression that residency isn’t involved in transferring at most schools. What part of Maryland are ya from?? I just recently transferred to an NC CC from Towson.
