Out Of State

Hi. I am an out of state student and would like to hear how much of an impact that may have since only 3 percent of the students are from OOS

At the end of the day (using UF’s holistic admissions), being OOS doesn’t have that great an effect on your chances. Your academics and EC’s have to be competitive, to have a shot, but that’s not the only reason OOS is limited to 6% (based on the latest numbers). Cost is also playing a role, as UF’s OOS Tuition is $28K+ a year and UF doesn’t offer many OOS scholarships/grants.

What would u say my chances r applying as a junior transfer from Umass-amherst with a 3.66 GPA, 86 credits and 2 leadership positions?

Junior transfers are based mostly on grades and classes you have taken.

And on your selected major. Some programs are much more competitive than others.

For example, use the following link to review majors in the college of liberal arts and sciences (CLAS).

http://www.advising.ufl.edu/prospective/transfer.html

Clasical Studies, they recommend a GPA of 2.5+ to be competitive, while for Psychology you MUST have a 3.5 GPA.

I applied as a general business major and have all 7 pre-reqs completed with a gpa above a 3.5
