Outreach Scholarship: Is it renewable?

I received the out-of-state CPS Cal Poly Outreach Scholarship for $2,000 but on MyCalPoly it doesn’t specify whether it’s a one time or renewable for four years scholarship. I can’t find info from recent years about it… does anyone know? I got the award under 2016-17 financial aid so maybe they just don’t determine future years at this point? I’ll contact admissions if I can’t find an answer.

On this page, it says that the Outreach Scholarship “supports incoming freshman”, so I’m going to guess that it is a one year, non-renewable scholarship.

@berkeleymom4 Ah somehow I missed it in that list. Thank you for finding that!

3rd year student here.

It’s a renewable scholarship. They lowered the requirements of maintaining it to 36 units a year @ 2.0 GPA. Pretty easy, so essentially as long as you’re in school you get it.

@r77r77 Oh fantastic! I’m a bit concerned since they didn’t specify that on my financial aid summary, but hopefully it’s renewable for everyone. Thank you for the info!

@CCName9 You’re welcome! The label changes every year: “CPS Cal Poly Outreach Y3” and it is split evenly into $667 for three terms. You’ll automatically qualify to have it renewed as long as you maintain the 2.0 GPA and remain a full time student.

Hi I just got that scholarship as well. Does every OOS student get it or is it financial aid based? Also does anyone know if there are any additional scholarship opportunities for OOS? I highly doubt it since it’s a state school, but every penny helps!

@ParksAndWrecked I’m pretty sure it’s only merit-based and for limited number of OOS students. I’ve never heard of any other opportunities  but you never know. Btw your username is great

@CCName9 Okay that’s what I thought and ha thanks
