I got invited to the bridges Senior Weekend but I have other friends from the same school who got invited to the Overnight Host Program.
What's the difference?

There are a few Overnight Host Programs, but all allow potential students to visit, spend a night in a dorm room, provide information sessions and allow you to visit the school and with current students.

Regents Scholars and a few targeted applicants get invited to a specific OHP, sometimes labeled ROHP, which often takes place the day before and on Cal day, when there will be maximum resources to explore the school and learn everything you want. There are a set of OHPs that are offered to all accepted students, mostly the ones hosted by the Alumni Scholarship grooup, scheduled up until the decision date, that provide the same overnight stay and information sessions that I described.

If you are not 100% certain you will (or will not) accept the offer to attend Cal, it is well worth the time to visit. Even if you are passionately commited to joining the other Bears here, if it isn’t a hardship you might want to come. You learn more about the school, pick up important traditions, and have a good time.

Bridges Senior Weekend is a similar program but it is targeted at students that the school suspects might not be able to afford to attend the regular OHP events. I imagine that means you either pay to go to OHP or go for free through bridges to a similar program. Anyone who attended one of these, any differences from OHP other than costs and being limited to invited students only?

So the OHP isn’t free? Because my friend whose family has lower income got invited to the OHP instead of bridges.
I just wish the school website has more information on these programs. Either way, I’m happy the school offered me a chance to visit the school or else I probably wouldn’t be able to on my own. Thanks, Berkeley (:
