Programs for the Senior weekend?

I was put down for the overnight host program while a couple of the classmates got a choice of a bunch minority group programs, what is the difference???

The way I think of it, Senior Weekend has two types of programs. There is the one that the school puts on, Overnight Host Program (OHP) and the one that the various recruitment and retention centers within Bridges Multicultural Resource Center puts on. Both invite newly admitted high school seniors to the campus for a night or two, and both include fun activities like game nights and scavenger hunts. For example, I know that PASS (Pilipino Academic Student Services) brings the seniors on a scavenger hunt in San Francisco, and the other groups like BRRC (Black recruitment), Raza (Chicano/Latino recruitment), Native American RRC, and Reach! (Asian American/Pacific Islander recruitment) have similar programs. The Bridges senior weekend also includes workshops that teach about things from succeeding in college to affirmative action.

And so the difference between the OHP & Bridges senior weekend? The biggest difference is in their purpose. The Bridges organizations are "recruitment" centers so they answer the question, "Why should I come to Cal?" OHP is more like an extension of a campus tour, more objective, answering the question, "Can I imagine myself as a Cal student?" And so as you can tell, the Bridges Senior Weekend is bit more persuasive, but both are good to help you make a decision about which college you attend.

Did you get any confirmation that you're going yet? I sent my RSVP and the waiver form for OHP like an hour after Berkeley decisions came out, and I haven't recieved anything.

I didn't send the waiver yet i'll prolly do it this morning
