As an ED admitted student, I was wondering if we know when exactly Owl Days will be? I know it will be in April but that is it haha. I could not find an exact date or set of dates on the website.

Im not sure if they have set a date yet. They will let you know when it is finalized/dates available online

Is someone willing to please elaborate a bit more in regards to what happens during Owl Days? I’ve researched the subject quite a bit and have yet to determine very much about what accepted students can expect to experience. I do know that we stay with student hosts and visit classes, etc.; do you believe that a person would truly be missing out on something special if he or she decided against attending/weren’t able to attend?

From your signature - you are ED and are attending Rice, is that correct?

If so, you wont be missing out too much.Owl Days is really about getting to know Rice and seeing if you fit in. All these schools host such events to showcase themselves in order to have people choose Rice over other schools.

Attending is definitely recommended. If you cannot, it shouldn’t be that big of a deal.

Owl Days is very important if you’ve been accepted someplace else and haven’t decided on Rice 100% yet. It was very helpful for my son who had two other legitimate choices last spring and the two days at Rice helped him to see differences which he thought would be important.

But a lot more goes on during O Week.

Yes, I was admitted ED to Rice and I’m attending.

Thank you for your responses, it seems as though it is something that is geared primarily toward RD students/students who didn’t withdraw all other applications a couple of months ago in order to have a confirmed spot at Rice…haha.

I’m definitely looking forward to O-Week, though! :)

Yeah. It is the equivalent of a company taking you to a fancy dinner during recruiting. Owl Days is lots of fun. You get to enjoy college without any of the work!

Come to Owl Days or I will be a very sad matching chair indeed.
