for agricultural sciences

I think the bibliography could go over the two pages, it would be hard not to. But it sounds like they would prefer footnotes. And it shouldn't be too hard to stick to that, I wouldn't think you'd have TOO many sources, at least enough to require a seperate section.

wombat, if you dont mind me asking what were your scores like?
My PSAT were the same as my SAT- 202 vs 2000 (first time), but what i really like is my ACT scores, i got 30s on Reading/English 33 on Math/Science--Overall 32---i'm hoping my counselor put that on there.
Overall, academics for me aren't a problem, essays i thought were pretty good, and EC are okay.
What are your EC's like? I had computer related science in two clubs and that was it really.

Do you guys think SAT/PSAT scores are accounted for a much of the entire application? because my psat score wasn't that fantastic.

From what i hear, essays and transcript are the most important.
I hear that P/SAT's are only a minor part of your app, as are your extracurriculars.

If you don't mind me asking, on the app, it talks about your chief essay, saying that you need to propose and solve a problem. Do you think this topic is more opinionated, as far as your solution, or factual?

what app is this?
for science it was either discussing your most influential event/person in your science/math eduaction--or--discuss your greatest achievement.
I think if you must propose a problem it has to be one that is pretty legit, but deciding on the issue is opinionated, whether you think it is an issue worth taking action.

To sethorama: I agree that transcript and essays are most important, but I'm pretty sure its not like, say, TASP, where the essays are all that matter. I think they look at all of it, at least a little. Anyway, my test scores may be the strongest thing on my app: 237 PSAT, 2160 SAT, 5 on AP Chem, 790 on SAT II Chem (I like chem lol). And my ECs are about the same as yours for science. I have two science clubs w/ leadership (founded one), and I have a tiny bit of research experience w/ some misc. conferences etc. mixed in.

Kosoccer7: I think that they want to know your solution rather than what you know about the problem, but this is just a guess I would have to see the prompt.

wow, wombat, thats crazy--your scores are great. Im taking AP Bio in addition to Physics this year--so i hope they see it demonstrates an interest in science. But for you to start a science club is really good too. I only have TSA, and FBLA (which isnt a science club but i am doing a computer event--qualified for states!), and then other non-science EC's.
I bet you you'll get in, i mean i dont know your area or anything, but in my area you'd be in for sure.

Thanks seth. That means a lot coming from someone around Philly. And you aren't in bad shape either. The double science AP thing doesn't happen very much at all, and a 33 science ACT is really good. What is TSA btw? We don't have it up here in the boondocks. And when you go to states in the computer thing you might meet this kid named John K. from my school. He's asian, crazy as hell, and loves fight club. Just thought I'd give you a heads up.

TSA is technology student association. its really kinda tech-ed based, but they also do computer stuff and they have one biomedical career essay that im doing.
The funny thing about your John K. is we have a Joe Kai at our school who is asian and is going to states, is a crazy break dancer and does sick magic tricks.... sounds very similar haha.

Its Global Entrepreneurship. It's topic is to discuess an issue of it and present possible solutions or approaches.

i think the solution or approach could be opinion based but it must be feasible, it cant just be your own speculation.
Or that is what i perceive anyway. hope that helps a bit.

Hey!!!!
Got my receipt today! They received it on the 12th!
Everything is good to go! So relieved, can't wait until April when we find out!

Hey I'm applying for the Global Entrepreneurship too. But in my chief essay, 3/4 of it is facts about my topic, and I only formulate an opinion/solution in the last paragraph. Should I totally rewrite it? And some one chance me please. Sophomore, 195 PSAT, 3.9 GPA Unweighted, Some EC's leadership. Take all available honors.

kevin521, I pretty much have the same stats as you and am applying for that also!!! Um, i think you are only supposed to have facts for your problems, but your solution should be halfof the paperish. Imma sophmore too. I was wondering if someone could take a look at my other thread, but i dont know how to put that in this message thingy. It's called lying in narrative statements of governors school or something like that. I need a bit of advice.

And kevin, i have a question for you. On your narrative statement, if you did it yet, did you include your personality, work-style and interest? Or did you just concentrate on one of them?

oh haha yeah i covered everything in my narrative, but i had to take out bunches of it since i was writing in font 11 and i barely fit everything in. I focused like three sentences on each, unless I thought it was important to really state something. And lie in the narrative? wouldnt they figure out by checking out your resume and contacting your recommendations?

^No, he was asking about lying about his future career goals or something like that. Not a resume thing.

just finished my application
gonna send it out tomrrow!
