Hi Berricre8v,

Students need to upload both solo video and two photos. I just looked at the Acceptd questions we designed and I don’t see the reference to “OR” as you mentioned. Since it hasn’t come up again on this thread, I assume that it’s clear once you log into Acceptd.

Happy auditioning everyone! We’re very excited for our first on-campus Commercial Dance audition of the season this Saturday!

My daughter’s solo is a modern piece. Given the Pace program is Commercial dance, is a Modern solo appropriate for the prescreen video? In addition to ballet and modern, she’s very strong at jazz, tap, and hip hop, so the program seems like a great fit for her, and her experience and honors/ recognition in these disciplines are outlined on her dance r

@SaratogaParent: My DD submitted a contemporary solo and received an invitation to audition. I bet your daughter’s modern solo would be just fine. Good luck to her and keep us posted on her progress!

My daughter got her invitation to audition today. She used her modern dance video, so it all worked out. It was great news for her today.

@SaratogaParent - Glad to hear that the invitation to audition came! Let us know how the audition goes!

@caymangirl38 Hey!! I’m a current student in the program!! I am sure whatever pics you already have are just fine!! I had my mom take my arabesque shots and then we had a family friend do head shots. As far as what she is wearing, a black leo and pink tights is preferable for pictures, but the leotard could really be any color. But I recommend the tights being pink (regardless of what shade of pink) Good luck to you and your daughter! If you have any other questions, please feel free to write back or PM me!

Do you have stats on how many guys are in this program?

@jedwards70 At this time, we have 22 men in the program.

Hi, I am currently living in Hong Kong and going to New York for an audition would be near impossible due to my on going exams and the financial toll it will take on my family. Do you know if i would still be eligible for a place at Pace or would I not be considered?

Hi Sabrina! Since you have such a specific case, I would recommend contacting the university to see what their policy is

Any idea when the dance program decisions will be made for dancers that auditioned on January 25th in NYC?

Decisions will be mailed out the second week of March. :)

Daughter received acceptance in the mail today, March 3. She auditioned on February 22.

SaratogaParent…congrats to your daughter! Mine is a sophomore and that is her dream school. She is working very hard to be prepared.

Great information on this thread…thank you so much!

Has anyone done the PACE intensive? What is it like? Is it best to do it after junior year or before?

Holy moly Pace, you are giving us heart attacks! TWE came (thin white envelope) TWO days in a row. We thought it would be the dance decision but it was a form letter from the University congratulating her on her acceptance, which she knew about months ago. If you have received a decision from the dance department, what did it look like? Does the return address say it is from the Dance department? Is it a window envelope? Thick or thin? Still waiting to hear, and hoping as Pace is her top choice at this point… She thought the audition went well, but who knows…

SaratogaParent…that is awesome news about your D. Same questions as pmcolorado, and also, what part of the country do you live in? We got an envelope yesterday, but it was the financial aid information based on our FAFSA. D auditioned so long ago, it seems like eons. This is the last school she is waiting to hear from and her first choice.

We were mistaken. Like pmcolorado, It turned out to be two more simultaneous notifications of academic acceptance. There were 2 letters received, so we mistook one for being from the dance department. She received her academic acceptance a long time ago, so I don’t know why they keep sending these. Mid-March is when we understand acceptances will be sent from dance department. Our D can 'to wait to hear. She enjoyed the audition.

Do any of you know what the process is to become a dance major if you are already a student at Pace? My D applied at the last minute to Pace, she applied as an undecided or undeclared arts major. Pace had been contacting her a lot and she thought ok, I will apply literally at the last minute. She did not have the time to meet the audition deadlines. She ended up with a substantial scholarship so now she is considering checking Pace out further. Thanks for the help. She is also interested in film acting.

Pace is an audition program. There was a video prescreen for an invitation to audition. I believe all of the audition dates for the class of 2018 have passed. During the audition, they said a student accepted academically could audition a second time for the program, presumably for admission the following year. Regarding transfering in from another school, they indicated they would never say never, but it was not likely, as the program was designed in an integrated manner for all dancers to go through all 4 years together.

Hey pmcolorado! As far as I know… The last official decisions were being sent out later this week. So give it about another week!!
