Wash U is offering to pay my visit for Engineering Days or on any day that I wish. I noticed also that they will pay for those invited to the multicultural weekend. Was everyone invited for free for something?

Olin Business School also pays for my airfare.

Gad, when is the Olin Weekend

Olin Weekend is 4th-6th I believe.
I don't know which one to go to. I read on the website that WashU only pays for one visit in the Spring. So I'm guessing they'll only pay for the airfare for one of these weekends?

Anyone have any suggestions as to whether I should go to the Multicultural Weekend or the Olin Weekend?

you're right xiadane.

I also have no idea what to attend...

Do they pay for two-way airfare, or just one-way?

They said it's round-trip airfare :)

If the multicultural weekend is april 18-19, then I would say go to that. As a current WashU student, it looks like there will be more going on on campus that weekend. They plan all kinds of events that weekend - a carnival, theatre productions, concerts, etc.

how did you guys know they would pay for your visit, like how did they contact you?

Do they ever pay students living overseas to visit?

A CARNIVAL?! That's so cool! I wish I was invited...

ysbera---A letter came with my acceptance package telling me about the free trip.

@cinnamon oh ok thanks, I still haven't gotten mine yet

The Architecture/Design School is offering paid airfare as well (just got my package a second ago)

I got free airfare for Arts & Sciences, so it looks like they offer it for all schools. I'm SO excited to head out and finally see it for myself!!

Just rec'd it for engineering. The multi-cultural weekend sounds like more fun...

got it for arts and sciences as well. do you think they would find a student to put us up for a night??

Hey so did EVERY accepted person get the paid-for-air-fair? I got it too. Engineering.

When they say "Your application stands out among the best we received this year," do they mean out of the accepted students, or out of all of them??

Haha, well since it seems everyone got a paid visit, I guess we're among the best out of all the applications they got!

Oh, maybe it is different for the schools or something. I just got a little attachment thing that was like "we'll pay for your flight," not any "best we received." Whatever, I'll take what I can get, and I'm just LOVING the fact that I got into WashU!!

yeah i got it too for engineering!

i second the question... do they just put us up with a student? it says accomodation on campus

Yeah, current students got emails awhile ago asking for student hosts for prospective students coming all those different weekends. So you will stay with a current sudent when you're at washu. Also, not nearly everyone gets offered a free trip to washu, so you guys really are the best of the best. I'm pretty sure they really want you to come to washu so they want to seal the deal with a trip out to campus. Congrats!
