Is it true that wash u lets people visit the campus for free upon completion or attending something? thats what someone from my school's CCC told me, and I'm not sure how true that is because it sounds a bit ridiculous. Any idea about what that could mean or the details about it if it is true?

For free? I don't believe washU charges you to go on a visit. If you mean all expense paid, there are some times when it does, most notably scholarship weekends.

Also I know last year, all (or maybe most, but I think a fair number) of the accepted architecture kids got an all expenses paid visit in, if I remember correctly, April. At the same time the engineering school I know had something too, but I don't think theirs was all expenses paid...I could be wrong though.

well besides the schools like Engineering and Business sometimes bringing people down, there is also the Finalist weekends for scholarships, as well as Multicultural Celebrations Weekend for minorities.

Olin paid for my son to visit last year once they had accepted him. They paid for his flight from Boston, he stayed in a dorm and they paid for his meals, they ran shuttles back and forth to the airport. He was not a scholarship recipient. We had paid ourselves for an earlier visit before he applied.

There are two weekends where they pay part or all expenses for URM's to visit. Discovery weekend at the end of September, and Multicultural Celebration weekend in April for accepted students.

While many complain about WUSTL's constant barrage of mailings, this is one good reason to get on their list. It also helps to show interest by sending them free SAT score reports and designating them as a NM school in spring of junior year.

Correction to the above post, I've been notified by an informed poster that top candidates that are not URM are also flown out on Discovery weekend to visit. Good news for all!
