free trip to washu?

Did anybody else get this? I got my letter today, and they are offering me free airfare to go visit their Engineering school again. The trip is April 9 - 11.

Yay!! I'm so excited.

My son received this as well. He's debating whether or not to go as he already visited for their prospective student weekend last October and is not sure of the additional value a second trip will provide.

I wish I had gotten one :(

did you have exceptional stats or something?:)

Did you two apply EA or ED? My S applied RD and has not received any.

Thanks,

I applied RD, and I just got an email telling me that I was accepted and that they would pay for my airfare to Wash U. Needless to say, I'm really excited and definitely plan to go. Wash U was my second choice, but now that I'm accepted, I really don't care if I'm rejected everywhere else.

I applied Regular.
Well basic stats: 34 ACT 4.0 GPA
I guess I'm pretty well-rounded, bunch of activities and such, and I'm from a "rural" area.
But I also got a Dean's Scholarship for engineering (and I'm a girl), which may have played some part in it.

i got the free trip too, to the art school

Congrats tagran and mavin! Is the trip the same weekend as the engineering school? Do you think you'll be going?

i got a free trip too to engineering

congrats looks like washu is desperate to have you and not me in their school :( :)

Congrats guys!
Hey, where do you guys live? I wonder if they offer one for international students......*wishful thinking

I'm confused... people are hearing back already? can some1 clarify this for me, thanks lol

yes, some people have received early notification, it looks like the art school and engineering have sent out a few early acceptances for RD candidates

i just recieved a "likely letter" for Olin. They offered to fly me out for an Olin Spotlight thingy. So I don't think it's just art and engineering

I applied to Olin, and it was an email (more than just a likely letter). It said:

"Congratulations! Later this month, you will receive a letter from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Washington University, informing you of your admission to the John M. Olin School of Business as a member of the Class of 2009. You have been selected from an extraordinarily talented group of applicants to join the class of new first-year students who will enter Olin next fall.

Each student offered admission has outstanding credentials. You are among an especially select group with great potential to contribute to the Olin School's greatness, and to benefit from the exceptional educational opportunities we offer.

We know how special you are; and we want you to see for yourself how special Olin can be for you. We therefore invite you and your parents to the Olin School's Spotlight Weekend which is being hosted jointly by the Olin School and the Olin Ambassadors, a group of our most enthusiastic students."

It looks like all of the schools have sent out these letters. My friend got one for architecture yesterday. How common are these letters?

yay~ free trip to engineering school~
now i can enjoy my march break. lol
my scores were not 'great' tho.

My friend got the Art School acceptance today. She is offered a trip up to campus as well.
I am basically sitting on my hands until I find something out.

has anyone received anything from college of arts&sciences?

negative, can't say I have... lol
