okay so we had a pop quiz today and i got a 58
and now my grade went from a a- to a b+
i want to apply to top schools but im afraid that it will hurt my chances
btw the class is honors english 10
thanks i cried so much after the quiz
Calm down, it’s one quiz and it’s not like you are failing the class. A B+ is not going to prevent you from going to a good school. Once in college, things like this will seem really trivial and unimportant.
You are a sophomore and it’s one quiz, everything will work out fine, just relax!
@Brewmaster10 @Fishnlines29 thank you guys so much im trying to take my mind off of it cause i have 98764758 other tests and quizzes but thank you so much
don’t worry about it! i’m only a junior so I don’t have a “I got a 50 and got into Harvard” message…but only final grades matter! I’ve gotten a LOT of 50’s yet managed all A’s (one class I got 4 50’s and ended with a 97 so) in the end (and one 89 in Calc BC) so don’t worry about it!
plus it’s a pop quiz…people be pulling 0’s from pop quizzes so you’re good i’ve become immune to everything after last year haha
- Breathe.
- Everything will be fine.
- Relax.
- This grade doesn't say anything about your intelligence.
- This grade probably won't be the reason you do or don't get into Harvard.
- All that matters is semester grades.
Don’t stress! If you have a B+ there is still likely time to pull it up, it’s not like your entire grade dropped to a 58! This year I began AP United States History with a 40 on a quiz and still finished the marking period with an A+. Just work even harder and everything will work out fine.
Ayy! Fellow Korean again!
First off, the fact that your grade jumped from A- to B+ tells me this quiz was minuscule in worth. Secondly, it’s literally not even halfway through the year yet. You can make it up to a higher grade easily.
Getting a B+ in a class will not bar you from entering an Ivy League school. If this were the case, I do not think my school would have such a high number of students going to top schools. I know somebody who got Bs in all of his math classes and got into Harvard and UChicago. You have nothing to worry about.
Realize you made a mistake and figure out steps you can take now so that you won’t make the same mistake again in the future.
@LushLillies @cliffnotes @ashley18 @Wolfgangbread @GMKoon thank you guys so much i really appreciate it im figuring how to tell my parents tho…
@davidyekwonkim I mean, you don’t have to. I generally try to avoid telling my parents bad grades and let them get surprised by skyward
