haha, same...same.

haha, same...same.

:D

btw, do you guys have asian parents?

i live in a district that is 45% asian so it's fairly common around here.

...
nope, white.

Whatever the color of our skin, we can mingle together and talk about the same issue.

Ah, the beauty of College Confidential.

hahahaha.

the same issue as in, complain about our parents.

(my mom thinks college confidential is evil and takes away my precious studying time.)

hmmm.

haha, true, true. it's beautiful, eh?

btw, what classes did you take last year, molly?

i'm taking lang, us, bio, and studio art this year, along with precalc and french 4.

i hate my schedule with intense passion. (besides studio art)

A days: Physiology/pathophysiology II, AP English, AP Statistics, scientific research and writing

B days: Medical microbiology, keyboarding (haha!!), physics, AP government

I'm so stupid. what kind of senior takes a full couse load?!

Edit: I thought you said this year!

last year I took:
AP Calc AB
AP Psychology
AP English
AP Biology
AP US History
Physiology/pathophysiology I
Dual Enrollment Emergency medical tech

rough year...

oh, i meant last year as in junior year.

but i actually like your senior year schedule. mine will be something like ap art history, ap euro, ap english lit, ap calc, ap french, and physics honors.

oops, i didn't see your second post, sorry!

did you end up with all A's last year?

i think it's gonna be a struggle for me...

AP euro was awesome!! Tough class, though; I took it as a soph.
I tried to take AP art history this year instead of keyboarding (haha), but they weren't offering it due to lack of interest :(

last year I got all A's....and a C in calc. oops.
I got 3 5's, a 4, and a 2 on my exams
Psych, English, Bio - 5
US - 4
calc - 2 (no surprises there! I was sick as a DOG the day of the exam, if that redeems me at all. I think I should get bonus points for showing up! I had to be escorted to the restroom twice to throw up.)

we're gonna have a bonehead teacher for euro... might opt for gov instead. i really want to take euro though.

weird, where I am you HAVE to take govt. to graduate
and it sucks to have an idiot teacher in euro. you HAVE to do the reading, either way though. No escaping it.

aww i'm so sorry to hear that! i don't think i would've even taken it.

gah, i was gonna skip ab and just do bc next year, but maybe not.

So the report card came. I got a 3.64. You know, it's a good GPA. And then my mom goes on, fixates on my ONE B- in AP Enviro, and starts going on a tirade about how I don't work hard enough and blahblahblah. Hello? What ROCK has she been living under? I only took AP Enviro because SHE insisted that I have a science and there was no way I was going to pick AP Bio. I despise chem and physics. And she doesn't even NOTICE the fact that I got an A in English and AP Econ. Well I have a hard time in science. I'm not like my dad. I can do English, math, social science, but I CAN'T DO SCIENCE TO SAVE MY LIFE.

What do I expect? My mom's so asian. And despite the fact that I told her clearly that I had, have nor will I have any desire or intention to major engineering, major science or go to med school, she's STILL trying to get me to do one of those things. Yeah, guess why asians keep getting rejected from top schools.

haha, i'm not strong in science either. although i do like bio, but mainly just human physiology/genetics/neuroscience. none of that ecology/plants/cellular respiration/krebs cycle yadda yadda crap.

And what bothers me isn't the fact that she fixates on my B- in AP Enviro. In my book, I tried my best in that class given the situation I had. I had a C test average. I got a B on the final. I worked my ass off on the extra credit essay my teacher assigned during thanksgiving break. And she refuses to acknowledge that at least I tried. She just looked at the final grade and she starts on this tirade. Seriously. I don't know about you, but anyone will agree that if I get a B on the final after a streak of Ds and Cs on the tests, I made the effort.

Of course I don't even get a "good job on AP Econ and English" for those As. So what's the point? Really. Sometimes I hate being asian. In an asian household, if you do really well but **** up on one thing, your parents will hound you about it until you move out.

I'm actually very weak in science. Maybe I got the genes from my mom. My mom did OK in biology. She didn't even PASS chemistry. She didn't even TAKE physics. How the hell does she expect me to do well in science? I hate science. I suck at science. It's my weakest subject. I actually considered dropping AP Enviro to boost my GPA. Maybe if I didn't have that B- I would have gotten a 3.8 or something. I hate myself for taking that class. I should have just done like psychology or something. Strangely enough, my school doesn't have AP psych. If that was an option for me, I would ABSOLUTELY take that class over stupid AP Enviro. Besides, I'm going to be an investment banker. So none of that enviro stuff matters to me anyway.

My mom thinks that my full-tuition scholarship is totally for her benefit. "I'm going to go travel now that I don't have to worry about paying for your education!" Does anyone else see the horrible wrongness with this picture?

You guys shouldnt complain.

I would love to have parents that cared. Im pretty sure youre parents have been pushing you your whole lives. I only started doing well in the 7th grade because I knew that it was time to take things seriously, no thanks to my parents. My mom doesnt give a crap about how well I do in school. In 7th grade when I tried to show her I got straight A's she was "Ohh..thats, um, great!" She even says I try too hard and should chill out and that nothing is wrong with a 3.0 and community college. Nothing is wrong with those things, but I want more! haha!

Anyway, I think its great that your parents push you. Gives me more competition for getting into college this year :)
