I am a student who is transferring to ucla. I have a car for now, but a lot of people suggest that I don’t need one in ucla. (I can bike instead.) However, I don’t want to sell it just in case. I will possibly be living in the ucla-own apt.
Question: Is there a place that I can park my car for a long time (counting with months) that I don’t need to move it from time to time? If anyone has it, can you please drop down the street name(s)? Walking within 30 minutes from the apt to there is acceptable. Thanks in advance.
If I understand your question, you’re looking for a sidewalk where you can park your car and leave it untouched for months?
You’re very unlikely to find anywhere like that within a 30 minute walk of UCLA. Even if you did find such a place, your car would likely get reported and towed as abandoned after sitting for a couple weeks. Parking is a premium everywhere in LA, and especially so in Westwood.
Your best bet is to hit craigslist and find a garage or parking space to rent.
You can only park on the street for 72 hours. After that you can be ticketed and towed (which can be VERY expensive). Leave to car at home or follow anomander’s advice.
