Parking permit?

I’ll be a freshman for the fall semester and I plan on keeping my car on campus. Yes, I know its a bad idea and public transport is much easier. I live in CT so I’m within reasonable driving distance. I wanted to know how I can purchase the orange permit for overnight parking. I think I can buy one through my studentlink, but I haven’t been to my orientation yet so I’m not registered. Would I have to wait until move-in day to purchase one, or will I be able to buy one after my orientation? Thanks.

thanks, but i’ve already checked the site and it doesn’t say where or how to purchase the permit. I know I can prob get it from GSU after school starts, but I’d rather buy it now if possible. Anyone else have any info?

I think you can buy them early on the student link and then you pick them up at the GSU during move-in or maybe even Orientation.

I’ve checked my student link and the only thing i see is an option for “Evening Parking Permits”. But if I click it, it tells me im not eligible because im not registered. Thanks though. I’ll just ask during my orientation i guess.

i thought freshmen weren’t allowed to have cars? Or has this changed since I graduated?

you’re allowed.

Unless you plan on driving back to Connecticut virtually every weekend…a car would really not be worth the trouble in your freshman year at BU. Driving is an absolute headache, and parking an even larger headache.
