I am a biomedical engineering major planning to transfer this fall to a UC (hopefully UCI). According to my CC counselor, I didn’t have to complete IGETC because my major pre-requisites are more important. How much of an impact will not completing IGETC do for me?
And because I had enough AP credits in high school, I only followed the “UC seven-course pattern” and that led me to being a part-time student for my last three semesters. I took only major pre-requisites after my first semester (ex. one semester I took only gen chem 1 and engr physics 1…which was 10 units). Will the UC’s look at my application differently because I was only full-time my first semester? I will quit my job (15 hours/week) to be full-time once I transfer.
Also, I got my only C in a major pre-requisite (Calc 3), but I’m pretty sure my UCI TAG requirements were all fulfilled. My GPA (3.55) still meets the UCI TAG requirements, but I’m just nervous that the C will make a large impact. TIA!
