<p>i need help with this too. major help. i mean staring-at-the-paper-out-of-ideas-for-an-hour help. and doesn't it have to be limited to 200 words? i have no idea how to do that.</p>
<p>i talked about a recent incident that was in the news and how it was typical of my town, and used that to segue into how that has rubbed off onto me, and what of it hadn't.</p>
<p>I talked about how much my family likes food. No joke. It was about my dad's cooking. Then I went on about how we like to eat/cook food from all over the world. Thus, we are open to all types of people. etc. how sweet. etc. </p>
<p>it was cute, i guess.</p>
<p>what do you say for the why tufts question? how can you do something creative with that, if you can at all? i'm stumped.</p>

<p>Mine was about our family dinner table and about how different everyone is. My dad is a very strong fiscal republican, my mom is a democrat who worked for Kerry, we always thought my little sister would be like my dad but even though she loves her money she is very socially liberal, and then there is me, the extreme liberal. And somehow, we all get along. That's my essay summed up!</p>

<p>couturegrl- i didnt attach an optional essay but i just sent a photo in with my school transcripts. i gave it to the people in my guidence wing.
is everyone sending in basic senior photos? i kinda wishi had done a goofy picture with a giant elephant or something. i'm sure lots of people do it, but my senior pic was boring. my friend sent a wicked goofy picture of her at a chocolate fountain. oh well, too late now.</p>

<p>i think that's what they did want. there's another thread on pics now, but the consenus is that everyone sent something different (obv). Some just sent happy pics and others sent pictures of them doing whatever they do, like an instrament. I know i was going to send a pic of me skating, but then i got lazy...hmm...seems to be a theme here, eh? i dont have any particularly recent pictures of my skating so i went with a happy one. go with whatever you've got around.</p>

<p>I wrote about the NYC subway system since I've lived with it my entire life. Sorta random and I only thought about it when I was stuck at home during the transit strike. ;)</p>
<p>Also, can anybody tell me how to write the first short essay question. I have really good reasons but I can't seem to write them out and it comes out as very generic.</p>

<p>i think you should send that with something else in your app...its kinda weird to send in just a picture of yourself...unless the picture has someother meaning then just your face...but idk</p>
<p>when are the two mini-essays and optional essays due? The site says that for RD commonapp and supplement are due 1/1 but supporting credentials can wait until 1/10. Are the essays considered under supplement or supporting credentials? I've already submitted everything else in except essays.</p>
<p>OKAY yeah that is so confusing! ok the supplement and common app turn those in by january 1st. but i THINK the optional one is 1/10. i'm not sure</p>
