How is it at GWU?

One of the dorms, Thurston Hall, is called "Thirsty Thrusting Thurston"
That's the freshman dorm, and to the despair of some fresmen who want to study, the level of noise is umbearable.
My friend goes there and several times got "sex-iled" a word meaning exiled from her room because her roomate wanted "sexy time"
Other places are quieter I guess, I would not know.

Thurston is generally pandamonia, the fourth floor especially so (though the notoriety of particular floors changes every year). You can actually become sick of it after awhile, as it tends to interfere with studying and sleeping. If you are looking for the aforementioned, however, you can find it all around campus just at a less rumbunctious and more bearable level.

agree witj gwilde. my friend is in 4th floor and the fire alarm sounds there more often than in any floor, not to mention the "aroma" when walking the hallways. if you like to party at all times, then Thurston is the place.
I just can't understand how these kids still manage to do well in school with such a lack of sleep and a few drinks on them.

I live on the 4th floor, and I don't have that much of a problem studying in my room if I need to. The truth is that if you need a quiet place to study you can find it. Some people study in the basement. Others go to the library. During the day the dorm is very quiet (mostly because people are still sleeping from the night before or are in class). There's really not that big of a problem. Multitasker...We're able to multi-task quite well is all I have to say. The part I love about GW is that people work hard and study hard during the week, and they know how to have fun on the weekends. It's a good balance.

I also live on the 4th floor and while it can be noisy, if you need to get stuff done there are always quiet places like the basement or the library where you can study. I can think of only one or two times when the noise has bothered me and other than those times I love the 4th floor and Thurston. It's really a great freshmen experience and if I could choose over I would still choose Thurston.
