I received a letter from U. Penn that they have not received my application fee yet. I remember sending my ACT college application fee waiver back in Jan, but didnt know that U. Penn dont accept other waivers besides their own. my mistake…I didnt know.
Should I pay the $70 or ask my parents to fillout the waiver form? The thing is that my parent dont really care & would tell me to just pay for it. But…$70 is alot of money, and I dont even think Ill get accepted 'cause Im not ivy league material (meaning, don’t have high or perfect SAT & ACT scores, never received big awards, never taken Calculus, …)
My teacher said just pay for it since my parents dont care, but still…for me, its like seeing $70 being thrown away for nothing…sorry guys… I can use $70 for books, food, supplies & stuff. My parents were the ones who told me to apply to U. Penn. I would need to get their income information and signature for the fee waiver… so confused…
Any advice? thank you

Heeeey, I got the letter too, cc user, haha. How funny! Anyways, I think I am going to send in the fee waiver too, but I'll have to get my parents' income/wages info, and if not, I'll send a check. Also, make sure to send yours in soon though, because decisions come out soon and you know how snail mail takes a while. Good luck!

Call Penn and ask what you should do, particularly given the timing. You may need to pay by credit card at this point, and then do the fee waiver to get a refund.

You should fill out the fee waiver form and fax it over. I received the same letter from the UPenn financial offices about a week or so ago. I talked to the lady and I filled it out and faxed it the same day I received the form. Then, I called back to check that it was received. So definately, faxing is the fastest way because she told me that she checks it very frequently. Just make it to her attention and call her and let her know you faxed it over.

I mailed the fee waiver today at school already... xx I thought about making a copy to keep, but I didn't... I was worried...and mailed it............. OO I am hoping that the mail will arrive at UPenn on Wednesday, which I believe, is when the decision comes out. Thank you very much for your advice though, I should've known better... :o Well, I can always fill out another fee waiver (from the UPenn website) and fax it in. I don't know....we'll see...

I got rejected (and I'm not upset at all). I'm really glad I mailed in the fee waiver instead. The $70 would've been a waste ^^" haha... Congrats to those who got accepted!
