Pending Ivy Transfers

Are you applying for sophomore or junior standing?

all sophomore (junior for UC, i have sufficent credits, i am just playing it safe)

what major?

biological science.

What is the distinction between science and biological science?

in a dorm inhabited by biological science students you get laid more often than a dorm inhabited by science students.

oo that's my major at cornell too. are you premed? p.s. depends on what kinna science you're talking about. soil science, animal science, etc. sure...but most bio majors here are premeds and they're hardcore studiers.

Ha...Well, the distinction I was really looking to understand was between biology, and biology science. There was no confusion about the difference between science and biology science. Damn...

hmm..we called it biological sciences at cornell b/c besides being a bio major, you gotta choose a concentration within the major such as nutrition, genetics, biochem, etc.

for those of you who got in penn, did you get an email saying your decision is online?

reading this board made me very nervous that my decision was online and I didn't even know about it, so I emialed Penn for my online pinn. This is the message they sent me back:

Dear ---,

We will be sending PINs for transfer candidates in about two weeks as we are currently working with the newly admitted freshmen.

Regards,
Penn Admissions

I got this yesterday, hope it helps

What is up with Cornell? Anyone applying to other than HE and CAS has heard anything? Are HE and CAS the only rolling colleges? This waiting is seriously killing me slowly.

CALS is suppose to be rolling too. But I think they're behind. And Penn isn't suppose to get back to us until the end of the month at the earliest.

BUt some people already heard tho..hmmm

wait, i got my PIN for penn in like january

cals grr..grr..grrr..grr..grrr...grr...grr...grrr...grrr...grrr...grrr....grrr

i called cornell for my pin actually, and the lady there told me just as i called in she was looking at some supplement material i sent in (really shocked her too).

i hope that left a lasting impression.

I doubt the lady who answered your phone call would actually have any direct relationship with the decision you will receive despite how impressed/shocked she was.

I got an email from Cornell saying that they were reviewing my application and asked me to send a syllabus for one of my classes. Should I take this as a good sign (as they are actually looking through my app, instead of throwing it out), or not read into it? I can't help but read into it though... the nerves are getting to me.

-Eddie-

for those who's text stating that their application was under current review disappeared.... how long was it until you got notified?

also how were you notified and what was your outcome?

EPorrell22, I wouldn't look too much into it because on the engineering website, it noted somewhere that you will need to supply them with syllabus of all courses taken. The good thing to know is that your app. is currently getting reviewed, whereas I have no idea of the status of mine as I sent everything including the syllabus in with all the other forms. Maybe this is something I shouldn't be so eager to do...

Edit: it's here at the bottom.

hnbui, usually the decision will be available online in 1 or 2 days after its initial disappearance.
