Penn 2014 RD Thread

So I had the stupidest dream ever. I was on campus wih my dad and his best friend and the daughter of his best friend and they kept forgetting me and I was angry at them for making me search for them all the time instead of enjoying myself. I eventually found them eating cheesesteaks. Oh and I discovered that I was walking around in my PJs and robe which was embarassing. And then we were hanging from some ropes doing all these Tarzan stunts cause Penn students really liked doing this…like I said, dreams can be weird.

And cue Twilight zone music please, I log on to Facebook and one of my friends has this status: “First, I thought you were just lacking gym time. But now that you say pickles and Philadelphia cheese, now it’s clear as day!”

Penn is in the air! <3

haha nelesy thats an awesome dream

PENN CONTACTED ME ABOUT INTERVIEW. i’m so happyyyyyyyyy

got my interview last night AND my penn portal! WOOO finally

^ Congrats! I have yet to be contacted for an interview. T_T

I havent been contacted for an interview. How are the interviewers contacting you? email? home phone? cell phone?

phone for me

email for me!

I checked MyPenn portal and on the application checklist it says they don’t have my transcript, secondary school report, and counselor recommendation even though I sent those a couple of weeks ago.

…help?

I wonder what percentage interview?

I won’t be getting an interview, they don’t have them in this area.

just had my interview, the guy was really nice and the whole interview was very relaxed… all those nerves for nothing XD

for RD’ers, is there more weight on the first and second marking period grades or the mid term exams when we send in the midyear reports?

I think there is more weight on individual marking period grades but I am not positive

dreaming: what kind of things did your interviewer ask you? anything out of the ordinary?

wangatang, i had my interview for ed and i remember it pretty well. so first he just asked me to tell him something about me. it was really chill actually. hmm he asked me what i like about penn and other easy questions like that. honestly, it wasn’t that bad at all. just be chill and relax. what i heard is that if you sound desperate, you’re screwed. so just be chill, know why you like penn and you’re all good. good luck!

alright thanks bro. so my interviewer basically told me to set up a time before feb 28th. i’m really busy the rest of this month and going out of town next week. even though his deadline is far away, do you think it’s rude if i schedule the interview early in february?

no wangtang, i think you’re good as long as it’s before his deadline

I haven’t received any info for an interview yet =[

I had my interview this past fall-- it went very well! Good luck to all of you applying! If not accepted to Penn, lets cross our fingers for the other schools on our list! :)

So guys, what are your thoughts on the safety of the Penn community? There was a shooting recently, and in the parents forum I read that Penn isn’t exactly the safest of places.
