^it’s in philadelphia, not the safest city, but I would say that part of philly is relatively safe. it’s in a college area with drexel

We were there for a visit this past Friday and thought it was fine. Really. Seriously.

there was a shooting? any details?

There was also a Temple Law student that shot a Villanova grad in a bar. How this reflects on Penn is a mystery to me.

so i found out today that two of the students at my school got their interviews. and i havent gotten any calls or emails about an interview. any thoughts on why this is?

it just seemed weird to me two of the applicants got an interview and i didnt. i know more applied to penn but im not sure if they were asked for an interview or not.

i know how you feel. everybody at my school is getting duke interviews but me. luckily penn is my top choice :)

i would continue to wait. my upenn interviewer said he gets til feb 28th to finish everything. so you got about a month of possibilities :)

i hopeeeee i get one now! cuz im freaking out that it may possibly be some kind of a sign. since the ones that got the interviews have WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better stats than me. theyre certainly not failing calculus, that’s for sure =/

psh who needs calculus…

ew, I hate calculus. dontsopbelievin, I feel you. I took my Calc AP final today and the week before, our teacher said in the past, the average on her final was 21 out of 40!! Yikes!! And it’s worth 200 points. I am just PRAYING for a B (any sort of B, as my school doesn’t use + or -)

Also, I think if I do get called for an interview, I probably won’t do it (I’d be really boring)

I feel ya guys on the calc situation…i have my final tomorrow! AHHHHHH. Im also praying for ANY kind of B lol

haha I hated calc last year (when I took AB) but I’m taking BC calc this year, and since it’s basically a review for me, it’s a breeze :D

uhm so how much do you guys think that’ll kill my chances of getting in. cuz im pretty sure this grade is set in stone.
i have my calc midterm on thursday and well, lets just say i’ll need all the luck in the world. my teacher is a killer grader.

i’d be ecstatic with a B or a C in calculus at this point. im legitimately failing.

…yeahhhh that’s what i thought. UGHH =(

dontstopbelievin: is math just not your thing? if you show interest/aptitude in another area that is also the area that you want to go into, then that could help you out!

as an asian, it seems almost weird to say math is not my thing anymore. i do like math. however im not good at the subject.

btw, i got the email about my interview guys! :D

I applied to Penn RD for the Huntsman program.
My interview is this Friday, January 22.

If you were good at math before, you can be good at math now. You just need to practice differently. Algebra/geometry/pre-cal all involved some formulas or ideas repeatedly used. Calculus needs more ingenuity, but the principles are the same. Just try harder.

Still no interview here :[

YES! Interview on the 14th!! so nervous/excited!!!
any advice???
