@ CanaryK: Let’s be wimpy together!
Seriously, I have one of the most intense schedules at my school. With that, I barely have enough time to squeeze everything in. I’m solidly booked (with classes, ECs, etc, but not including homework), from 8 in the morning to 7 on some nights, 9 on others. Thankfully I’m relatively more free on the weekends, else I’d die.

@ Stupefy: I turned my app in on Christmas, Penn downloaded it on the 27th, and I received my emails on the 31st and on New Year’s Day. Maybe you should check your spam folder?

@CanaryK: believe it or not in my school 13 subjects are MANDATORY. As in I don’t have a choice I have to take all of them and spend like 7 hrs at school every day. In third year we can choose two from six electives and I was actually trying everything to get a third one lol but I only managed to achieve a compromise of simply attending one month of the lessons in said subject.

And yes people play sports in my school (I don’t but I go to a dance studio for Ballroom and Latin dances three times a week) and have like two pages of ECs, some in school but mostly out of school. Needless to say, when I added studying for the SATs in the mix I haven’t had a chance to get senioritis hahah

To all of you guys worried about your penn portal, I just called the admin office and the general rule of thumb is 10 days max. So if you submitted on the 31st or 1st and you don’t receive it by the end of the week, call. Until then I guess all we can do is wait.

One more note: I noticed something funny. Next year’s applicants will be the PEN15 (Penn’15) class. immature… i know, but I just thought I’d share, haha.

@canaryk, yeah the counselor form was a separate common app form. it’s possible that your GC just sent it in without telling you about it. you should go to your GC and ask him/her.

Does Penn say that it has received your official SAT scores/your transcripts yet? I know that mine should be there by now, but the portal says that they’re still missing.

Wait, so the counselor recommendation was separate from the Secondary School Report?? That seems kind of redundant doesn’t it?

I feel you darkblade, the worst part is that by the time you’re done with all your EC stuff, you really don’t feel like doing schoolwork. Or at least I don’t, but then again, I’m sort of lazy. Hahah :)

Nelesy, if you only have a 7 hour schoolday and 13 classes, doesn’t that mean each class is only like a half hour long?? Or are you on block scheduling?

By the way, my scores have been received…
There shouldn’t be any problem with getting SAT scores though, since it’s electronic, right? There’s no way it could’ve been lost in the mail or anything, that’s probably the least of your concerns haha.

i think we’re talking about two different things here. cuz secondary school report is the part that your counselor fills out, but if he/she wanted to write you a rec letter for you (instead of just writing the evaluation part at the end of the SSR), then that’s what would be separate. if your SSR is in, your counselor form is in.

i had a snow day over here! it doesnt help my senioritis though. shoved aside my java and econ homework to play snow football and go sledding :)

^ Lucky. We get snow here, but only rarely does my school let us have snow days. Anyway, it seems like snow seems to fall only in large amounts during breaks and not during school time.
Ha, senioritis has manifested in me by consistently making my bedtime later. That being said, I only stay up until midnight on school days - which is considerably earlier than a lot of my friends.
