Penn Reject

So this is gonna sound awfully desperate - but it's been 2 hours since I got rejected from my dream school (Wharton), and I'm really feeling a loss of hope. I know this rejection "doesn't define me" and admissions is basically a crapshoot at this point anyways...but if any previous Penn rejects could just give me some solace and tell me where they are now, that'd be awesome. I'm looking at all the other Ivies, Stanford, Northwestern, UVA etc., and this rejection makes me feel like my chances are pretty dismal.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

What are your stats?

@MaddyDUMW‌ I think I posted them somewhere - I have 2300+, lots of APs and top 5% of my class; 4 devoted extracurriculars - FIRST robotics, yearbook, student government, church, all with leadership positions; lots of community service over summers, and I created a class this summer. I don’t think my stats were the problem, but who knows?

I ended up getting accepted to University of Chicago a few days later, which is arguably just as if not harder to get into than Wharton ED - so I think it was honestly a matter of luck, or maybe Wharton already had too many people like me. Anyways, the rejection definitely did crush my ego, but the acceptance boosted it a lot - so if anyone is looking at this thread feeling hopeless, don’t give up! My friend got accepted to Wharton but deferred Chicago. Granted, I probably would’ve applied to a LOT more safeties if I hadn’t gotten into Chicago. Hahaha

Aha that’s awesime. Congrats!
