Is Penn State a better school than Ohio State?

Of course.

no doubt. lets get serious.

if you look at rankings, Penn State

if you look at everything else, still Penn State

However OSU has better football most years. And their Psych, Dance, and Poli Sci programs are better.

Everything else, PSU. Plus PSU is way harder than OSU to get into.

What about the social part of college? Who has more to offer

penn state was rated the number one party school this year by the princeton review

My brother is at psu and I have spent a few weekends on campus. I cannot imagine anywhere that has a better social atmosphere than psu

These people sure are biased. In US News Penn State is 15 in top publics - whereas OSU is 18 - not a big difference. I’m sure there are many departments that are higher ranked at OSU. For instance OSU is ahead of PSU in History and Political Science and equal in economics. Both are fine schools. As for the social scene, how can you compare State College (population:38,000) and Columbus (754,000):the 16th largest city. Yes if you want a social scene solely based on the campus, they are equivalent. However if you want to enjoy a larger city with it’s museums, symphony and more performing arts, Columbus is the better choice.
