Penn State Abington

I was wondering how Penn State Abington is. My first choice was University Park, but I was like many unfortunate students who didn't make the cut (but I didn't deserve it anyways cause I have yet to do one reading assignemnt in high school, or study---I rarely do hw--I am just a slacker). It would be nice to hear from Abington students about how life there is. This year I decided to care and started doing work. Although I have yet to be the "perfect" student, I am working on it. I was hoping to improve my studing skills becuase I want to do something in the Math or Science fields (which will require me to do work). Any Information on Abington will be appreicted.

Just in case your wondering my stats were 1200/1750 SATs score.
GPA = 3.7 weighted
Two honors classes every year, and 3 AP this year (Senior)
Extremly poor EC

Wow. I am suprised you didn't get into UP. Did you apply late? I got in with 4.0w/1100/1660 with poor EC's. I doubt they even look at EC's. My honors/AP's are the same as yours.

ahh Dude that makes me real mad. Students with similar stats like mine got accepted to UP and I didn't. BOOO!!! Well atleaste I think I got rejected: I got a letter saying "Welcome to Abington...blah blah blah..Due to limitations on the size of the freshmen class at University Park and the exceptionally high caliber of recent applicants, it is inevitable that many good students will be referred to other PSU campuses." I am not a great reader, but I think that means, YOU SUCK!! GET A LIFE!! Ahhh PSU is missing out on the greatest man to ever live lol :)

Anyways, any INFO on Abington? I applied 2-3 days before the the November 30th Deadline..But my transcript got there late (I sent it before deadline, but they recieved it late).

Sorry. I don't know anything about Abington.

Bump Bump Bump...Everyone does it. But Bump Bump..Bump Bump

Hehe Come on People help me :)

Thanks!!

No housing available, it is a commuter school. Otherwise:

The place is terrible. I went there during a campus tour with my brother who was looking at that place also. You have to commute, the campus is pretty small, and it looks boring. But there are alot of stores and stuff to do outside of campus. There is great transportation though I remember, buses, a train station close to the campus. It's also close to Philly.

Mr. P - I can't speak to the academics at PS-Abington but I live about 5 mnutes from it, and came close to teaching a senior level finance course there a few years ago. (I declined as my kids were too young at the time.)

PS-A sits in a very nice high-end neighborhood called Rydal/Meadowbrook, and is close to several towns which are about 10 miles due north of Center City Philly - Jenkintown, Willow Grove, ELkins Park, etc. As settings go, it's a nice, diverse area with lots to do.

All that aside, I cannot comment on what it is to be a student there. THis is a large decision, and perhaps it's worth a trip to see it. After all, two years there and it's off to Univ. Park.
