Penn State Branch Campus

Is Penn State Altoona easy to get into for a C average student? What are the requirements that one must meet to attend? Is the altoona branch campus more harder to get into then the others since it is more popular? Also if you have any feedback about the campus in general or would like to include something about Penn State Altoona that is worth knowing that would be very appreciated.

Anyone?

@jlhpsu

When you say C student, do you mean below or above 2.5?
Because some students are in the 2.5-2.9 range, although 60% admits are 3.0+.

Then you have a roughly 30-40% chance.

Do you have any advice or feedback that you could give to me? @jlhpsu

Focus on finding other affordable choices where your odds are 60% or higher. If you tell us what you need and what you like we can offer suggestions.

My son got into Altoona with a 2.7 GPA. There are lots of ‘average’ students that get in there. He is also thriving and has a 3.5 after 2 semesters.

The Altoona campus is great, I love the proximity to UP. My time on campus is awesome. It is a great option for the college transition. I absolutely love it.

I’d be happy with Altoona. It’s one of the larger campuses, plenty of activities, dorms, etc. I think those kids have it great as classes are much smaller and they don’t get lost in the masses of a 40k student campus. And many drive the 45 min for the football games.

I think you mean enrolled and not admits because according to PSU budget the GPA chart states that it is the total average for all enrolled freshman and first year students for class of 2021. @MYOS1634
