Penn State Decisions for International Students

Hi,
I applied last week to Penn State and wanted to know when decisions for international students come out, their website says mid-April but this seems odd as decisions for domestic students who applied in December get their offers by the end of February. Also, can anyone tell me how selective Penn State Harrisburg is?
Thanks

Hey, I’m a Chinese student who currently living and studying in Harrisburg. I applied to psu around early November and right before the Christmas break the status changed to under reviewing so I believe it would release the decision soon.
And for my understanding that the Harrisburg campus is not as competitive as university park. But it is competitive among the other regional campuses. It really depends on your score, gpa, and activities. If you can give some details of yourself, maybe someone could tell u whether u r competitive for Harrisburg campus

My UW GPA is 3.4, 1340 on the new SAT, 38 IB Predicted.
Also, since they started reviewing your application before Christmas when did they give you a final decision? Thanks alot.

That 38 predicted IB is incredible (it’s Oxford or Harvard level)…it doesn’t square with a 3.4 GPA. Is that a typo (28?)? Or what happened?
As an international, your IB predicted replaces your GPA combined with your lower school board results or GPA.
NYU would only expect the IB score btw.

My status has been like this “Penn State is currently receiving a high volume of supporting application materials” since November 30th.

@MYOS1634 Since our school doesn’t really know how to handle IB GPA’s and doesn’t weight them, i’m stuck with a 3.4 GPA even though I took harder classes than people who took regular high school, kind of makes me regret going IB in the first place, hopefully my predicted and SAT make up for it though.

My school doesn’t even offer a cumulative GPA, and the people at admissions told me to put that my school doesn’t calculate GPA ( they give values for each year separately), and that the admissions would calculate it themselves and hopefully weight it with my average percentile grade (87)

If your school doesn’t offer a cumulative GPA, then don’t put anything. That’s the wisest thing to do!
What did you write for Penn State?
A 38 IB is a 4.0 unweighted with the most demanding program so that 3.4 makes no sense.

I didn’t put a GPA and just put my percentile grades by subject and my predicted. Thanks a lot though!

One more thing, any idea when decisions come out for international students?

By FEb 15 I believe.
