"In general, library hours are Monday-Thursday, 7:45 a.m.-11:00 p.m.; Friday, 7:45 a.m.-9:00 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.; and, Sunday, noon-11:00 p.m."

Are these the times for the summer session or fall/spring semesters? I really don't want to walk all the way to the engineering library tomorrow and find out it's closed.

If you had called, it would have taken 15 seconds and you would have your answer by now.

The libraries are amazing. The only thing I wish the University would do is crack down on yackers, especially before finals. They're open really late before finals, too -- at least they were for fall '06 (can't remember if they were for spring '07).

I noticed this, too. I have seen people talking in the phone and having loud conversations right in front of the librarian numerous times and the librarian/clerk seemed to completely ignore the nuisance. It is almost as if they are scared of even giving the person a disapproving look.

-the worst parts are the computer labs and extended areas at pattee. It is very difficult to concetrate on anything with all the frivolous chitchat in those areas.

^^haha thats so true. This one time I heard a girl talking to her friend on the phone about this party she went to last night (this was finals week) and how wasted she was when she ended up making out with 2 random guys. This girl was sitting right next to me in the computer lab at Pattee.

I went to he library the other day, and I didn't see any books. It was like a museum in there. It was really quiet, and I didn't see anyone there. And when I hear a little tapping noise near the door, it scares the hell out of me.

lol.

lil killer, did you get any exam grades back yet? how did you do?

frasifrasi - Yes I did. I took one chemistry exam so far. My next chemistry exam is next Thursday, and my ED&G100 exam is this Friday. Here is how I did (this is my score report they sent me):

Hahhahaaa typical. Kinda reminds me of my final exam scores at the end of my last semester (although, I didn't do as well as you lol).

I like it like that. I would like to get into Schreyers. I probably won't though. By the way, do you know anything about PSU's 2 gb download limit? Will it let me download an 8 gb file from PSU website in one day? Or do I need to split it up into 4 weeks to download it without going over the limit?

You'll need to split it up into 4 weeks, I think.

What are you downloading though?

Hey, if you keep a GPA around 3.7 you will have a very good shot.

If you're on the PSU domain I dont believe its supposed to count against your limit.

https://www.engr.psu.edu/swdownload/Default.aspx

My ED&100 professor gave us this link to download SolidWorks on our computers if we wanted.

By the way, isn't 3.7 the minimum GPA to even be considered. If that is the case, I think I need more than 3.7 since some don't even get accepted.

3.7 with outstanding essays should do the trick.

Don't be too confident just yet lil_killer. You are just taking a few summer classes at this point and remember that you already took Ap chemistry, so it is expected that you do well on the class. Also, the average sat for schreyer is around 1390+, your sat score is extremely low(checked your profile). You would have to wait until junior year and have recs, good essays, and 3.7+.

about the download, do it in the lab as it doesn't consume your bandwidth.

Good luck.

I thought it doesn't matter where you download it, because you have to log in with your penn state access account to use the computer.

By the way, how do we become TA's?

Just go to your professors office hours and discuss if there are any TA opportunities available and what what qualifications you need to become a TA (usually an A- average in that class).

No, your 2gb bandwidth is only exhausted if you use your connection in the dorm. Using the library connection or computers in the library/lab doesn't count.

Also if you have a laptop...Wireless doesnt count against it. And Wat I meant was if your downloading something from the PSU domain (like the ITS website) it shouldnt count against your limit.

Correct. Downloading from the PSU domain does not count against you. Nor does using Ruckus (although I think Napster was much better! ;)).
