Penn Summer Abroad Program

Question: are these programs open to/suggested for incoming freshman?

I would really like to participate in one, but if I will not be competitive for admissions or if I will not be competitive for the subsequent internships than I’d rather save my money. What is the average year (freshman/sophmore/junior/senior) of the participants?

<a href="http://www.sas.upenn.edu/CGS/summer/abroad/application_psa.php%5B/url%5D">http://www.sas.upenn.edu/CGS/summer/abroad/application_psa.php</a></p>

Have you looked at the application? What program are you considering????

I got that e-mail from Penn too.

If I want to get started with some classes at Penn during the summer, do the credits transfer over to what I'm studying (do they apply for graduation?) How about the grade I recieve...is that also calculate in my GPA? I may take linear algebra but don't want it to mess up my GPA...

hmmmm, well if these programs arent intended for incoming freshman (which the application implies) then why did they send me an email advertising them?

You guys seem to have questions but since we cannot read/see the email you refer to it is a little hard to help you. Sorry

Dear New Penn Student,

Congratulations on your acceptance to Penn. If you are eager to start earning
credits before the Fall, you could do it by participating in one of Penn Summer
Abroad programs. The information is available at:

Whether you go on any of our programs or have other plans, I wish you a
wonderful summer. You deserve it!

Penn Summer Abroad

I'd say they are recruiting kids and if you have an interest you should contact them with specific questions. You have at least a month to meet the deadlines and I feel certain that credit will be granted.
