Anyone get nominated for student ambassadorships? I got mine to go to Australia this summer! Shall I see any of you there? Thanks!

I did, not going.

Actually I'm not sure if I got the same thing as you, mine was Holland.

Well I know theres different destinations for different age groups.

I think a friend of mine was trying to go... I hope she does!!

whats people to people?? smthin lk cty bt betteR?? nd how do you get nominated..

don't they send that to everyone? i got one and so did all my friends

your teachers nominate you. lots of people get nominated but few are accepted after you have an interview and 3 recs.

Its to expensive in my opinion.

Anyone can nominate you. My son has gotten the sports ambassador invite to ?Austria three years in a row now. I am sure it is a nice experience to visit the country, but he would miss out on some very important high level soccer here. It is very pricey as well. A good opportunity if you can afford it....but don't do the sports one thinking that you will be exposed to an elite experience.

mine was to Japan and i got another one for england and france and i also got the other one for sports in Austria

how much does it cost? & how long is it ?

i'm assuming it's a summer program ?

its a summer program and is quite expensive. my brother got into the one to go all over europe for 30 days and it was over 8000.

Basically if you can pay, you can go! They are well run trips, but they have no more cache especially for colege admissions than any other teen travel program.

I got nominated, and went to the meeting, but decided not to go a) because its expensive and b) where I live 95% of the people who actually travel are nominated by their parents.
Whoever said that very few who interview get in is wrong, at least for where I live. The lady told me that unless you have some major fault, like being expelled from school or you have all F's, they will make another group to fit everyone in.

yeaa its not very exclusive and on top of that it's expensive
